According to reports from local news outlets, at least 20 people were rescued from the Gulf on Thursday afternoon as dangerous rip currents created life-threatening conditions near Fort Morgan.
Red flags were flying on Thursday across Alabama beaches, warning of the high risk of strong rip currents. Despite the warnings, numerous water rescues occurred, with several people taken to the hospital and two airlifted in critical condition.
