Tropical Storm Bertha continues moving west across southeastern Louisiana with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph. The storm is expected to track along the Louisiana and upper Texas coast through Thursday before weakening inland Thursday night.
While Bertha is moving farther away from Alabama, tropical storm conditions will continue along the northern Gulf Coast through Wednesday night, with gusty winds and minor coastal flooding still possible in vulnerable low-lying areas.
Dangerous beach conditions remain the biggest concern for Alabama beaches. A High Surf Warning remains in effect until 3 PM Thursday, with surf of 7 to 9 feet tonight before gradually subsiding to 4 to 6 feet Thursday.
A High Rip Current Risk continues through late Thursday night, making Gulf swimming extremely dangerous. Winds will slowly diminish on Thursday, with only a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms as conditions continue to improve heading into Friday.
